High power sub-bass driver for use in open baffle designs. This driver offers exceptional power handling while being highly efficient at the same time. You can use this driver in a passive 3-way design, or active amplified using separate sub enclosures. This driver measures with a QTS of .76 in free air, and anywhere from .76 to 1.0 on the baffle depending on the implementation. We use this driver in our EOA-118 and EOS-218 sub bass baffles with a QTS of .887 using a 11.50'' slot. In addition, we have also designed a custom rear port laminar air flow diffuser that reduces chuffing at extreme output levels.
 
This driver hits hard with relative ease and produces deep texture and accurate tone when playing bass notes below 100Hz. We are measuring frequencies as low as 25Hz at 0dB with minor slot loading and active amplification and 23Hz @ -6db in the room. We recommend using a minimum of 2 drivers (1 or 2 on each side of the room) when designing your sub bass implementations. This will allow you to help negate room modes in the sub-bass frequency range.
 
Note these drivers have a 94db output passively with only a few watts. When pairing with higher efficiency speakers (98db+), add amplification using our EOA Fusion amps. The amplifier will allow you adjust the driver response via DSP (and EQ if desired) to align the bass levels to your mids and highs. We've achieved up to +12 db of gain without sacrificing sound quality. We are currently running our 218 subs alongside drivers operating at 100db efifciency without issue.
